On Saturday, an official Syrian spokesperson said that although they are on the way to peace with "Israel", the possibility of war remains opened.
As the official Syrian newspaper, Tishreen, reflected in an editorial the opinions of the Syrian regime, it said: "The path to destruction can open the instance "Israel" complies with its leaders, who have crime flowing through their veins".
The newspaper also added that "Whichever path "Israel" chooses, it will fine Syria prepared for either peace or war".
The newspaper's editor in chief and author of the editorial, criticized "Israel's" intention for peace, and she considered that the mentality of threats and wars dominates "Israel", which shows that its talks for peace are nothing but empty promises. She also added that "The Zionist entity has no read resolution to go in the path of peace."
Previously on Wednesday, Syrian President Bashar Assad told Spanish Foreign Minister, Miguel Angel Morantinos that "Israel" was pushing the Middle East towards a new war. This statement led Avigdor Lieberman, "Israeli" Foreign Minister, on Thursday to draw harsh criticism including threatening Assad that if he attacks, he will not only lose the war, but neither he nor his family will remain in power. A reaction met with surprise from the members of the Knesset.
In an interview on Friday, Lieberman said: "My response, which I made in order to clarify that the situation [with Syria] is unbearable, was immediately met with a hysterical reaction in Israel of 'how dare we anger the nobleman".
Lieberman further denied the meetings that have been happening between "Israeli" and Syrian officials.
